Into the plastic case of a garden pond a white projection screen is inserted at height of the water surface. A video image projector is hanging from the ceiling vertically and is projecting the currant broadcast of the Hessischer Rundfunk TV-Station. Into this TV-program, video sequences are keyed in showing soil, which is kept liquid and set into motion by water. These video sequences are played by a computer. They are stored on the computers hard disc as chips, each only some seconds long of size. A generator on random mode determines which chip is to be seen next. Motion sensors, placed around the pool deliver information to the computer if a person is approaching the installation and allows to react on the visitor due to specific clips, as soon as he or she approaches the installation by, e.g. a flow of clay moving towards the visitor.
In das Plastikgehäuse eines Gartensees wird auf
der Höhe des Wasserspiegels, eine weisse Projektionsfläche eingelassen.
Auf diese projeziert ein senkrecht von der Decke hängender Videogroßbildprojektor
das aktuelle TV-Programm des Hessischen Rundfunks. (live) Auf das Fernsehprogramm
werden Videoaufnahmen von Erde, die mit Wasser flüssig gehalten und bewegt
wird, eingekeyt. Diese Aufnahmen werden von einem Computer abgespielt, auf dessen
Festplatte sie in wenigen sekundenlangen Clips bereitliegen. Ein Zufallsgenerator
bestimmt, welcher Clip als nächstes zu sehen ist. Bewegungssensoren rund
um das Becken liefern dem Computer Informationen darüber, ob sich eine
Person der Installation nähert, und ermöglicht es, mit speziellen
Clips auf den Betrachter zu reagieren, indem z.B. ein Strom von Lehm genau auf
ihn zufliesst.
